NFPA 770 and Vortex Fire Suppression Systems
Application of Hybrid Water and Inert Gas Protection
Location Details: Online
Program: This program will provide participants with an appreciation for the research and development behind and supporting Hybrid Fire Extinguishing Systems. The program will also include a discussion of the development of industry standards and codes related to these systems, and will provide examples of applications. The presentation will begin with an explanation of the concept of hybrid fire extinguishing systems, inert gas and water, and will discuss how the technology grew from a concept into prototypes, along with laboratory testing to determine the appropriate boundaries for system applications. Product testing that led to standards development will also be presented, and the program will conclude with a discussion of how hybrid systems have been utilized worldwide, with specific examples of turbine protection, pickling lines, and valuable archives.
